When sports is your life, you always dream of being better from the other games or being as good as your role model. And it only natural that an athlete would push him or herself hard to achieve this dream. While that is a good thing to a certain extent, going beyond limits is harmful. So here are a few quick tips that you can use to be a better sportsperson yourself.

Be the person you want to be
Why do you have a sports figure as a role model in the first place? Probably because you want to be someone like them. So what make them, them and what makes you, you? Make time for yourself and think deep about it. You will come to realize that you actually already have what you want to be ruled out in your head. You should have only been working on them to make them a reality. If you want to be a sprinter like Usain Bolt, then work on your timing. Train hard and enough. And become that person you want to be instead of limiting it to a dream!
Focus
Whenever you are doing anything, whether it is sports, studying or even working out, always make sure that you are focused. Don’t let your mind waver to different places. Instead focus long and hard and make things work for yourself. When your mind and body are in sync you will realize that, that few 10 to 15 minutes you were working out or playing the game actually meant much more than the other hours you spent. So train your brain to stay in sync with your body and achieve more!
Think
Whenever you have free time or you aren’t practicing, think of what you can do to make the team perform better or how you can improve on your own performance. By doing so you will come to realize your strengths and weaknesses and this will surely help you perform better as well. Question things that you don’t think workout and things that you think should be done and bring them up to the coach. It would show him how much you are dedicated to what you are doing and that would easily put you in the list of people he respects. Of course don’t try to be too smart and ignore whatever he says too!

Be on time
When you have practices always make sure that you are on time. It isn’t about showing up whenever, it is about being disciplined, and sports is all about that. So if you want to make the best use out of your training time and your coach’s guidance, turn up on time or even earlier would do!
Use the above tips and train to be the good sportsperson anyone would look up to!
